About
Born and raised in Orem, Utah tucked into the base of the Wasatch Mountains, Kasey F. Jackson started his physically demanding and extreme life full of adventure and dream chasing. Kasey grew up playing football and went on to earn a full-ride scholarship playing at a D1 school. In addition to hours upon hours of football and weightlifting, Kasey worked long days of heavy manual labor, fought professionally as a Mixed Martial Artist and has trained and received a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has been a Strong Man competitor and currently competes in the International Highland Games Federation-Stones of Strength circuit. Along the way, Kasey has severely injured his back from lower lumbar strains, torn herniated and bulged discs and slipped and dislocated ribs. However, the most pain and discomfort he has experienced, is from sitting for prolonged periods of time. And this led him to the invention of the Hunkerin Stool.
After years of chronic back pain and injury, sitting in a static 90-degree position was not ideal—no human body was designed to sit in a static 90-degree position, and he needed a way to strengthen and rehabilitate his back. Combining his knowledge of the benefits of deep squats and yoga, Kasey invented The Hunkerin Stool. The Hunkerin Stool is an assistive device that allows a person to rest comfortably in a deep squat activating the hips and glutes while decompressing the spine.
